Ruminant and Farm Animal Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy for ruminants and other farm animals is underestimated and just like our dogs, cats and horses they can all suffer from the same musculoskeletal injuries, diseases and pain that can affect their everyday roles in production, showing and their welfare.

Some examples of when Physiotherapy can be used in Livestock:

  • Show animals

    • Restricted mobility

    • Muscle spasms

    • Gait abnormalities

  • Soft tissue damage / Wound Healing / Scar Tissue

  • Lameness

  • Swelling and Inflammation

  • Fractures

  • Tendon and Ligament damage

  • Downer Cows / Prolonged Recumbency

    • Maintain muscle mass

    • Prevent tissue necrosis

    • Help circulation - Prevent ischemia

    • Maintain mobility

  • Neurological Deficits e.g. post calving and 'Splits'

If you think your animal could benefit from physiotherapy please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss your animals condition. Like our companion animals, I need to gain Veterinary consent to treat your animal. Please either fill out the form below or contact Danielle who can on gain permission from your vet.
